Constitution
The year is 2650
75 years ago, an alien fleet attacked Earth.
Without warning. Without mercy.
We were not prepared.
Hundreds of millions perished. Dozens of cities burned.
We nearly lost everything.
Then, the aliens abruptly left.
We rebuilt. We armed ourselves. We swore never again.
But the aliens never came back.
Until now.
With overwhelming force the aliens have returned, striking deep into our territory, sending Earth into a panic. Our new technology is useless. Our new ships burn like straw. All our careful preparations are wasted.
Now, only one man, one crew, and the oldest starship in the fleet stand between the Earth and certain destruction
ISS CONSTITUTION
Warrior
We repelled the Swarm, for now.
But they won’t stop they’re inhuman. They have no inhibitions. No conscience.
And no mercy.
But from the crucible of battle has risen an unlikely hero. Captain Timothy Granger, at the helm of another time-tested battleship, will take the fight to the enemy. He’ll discover their secrets. Find their homeworld. Destroy it before they destroy ours.
He will save us all. He must.
Or we’ll die.
Victory
United Earth burns.
The Swarm runs rampant across our space. We mourn the loss of thousands of ships and millions of fallen comrades. Billions of fathers, mothers, sisters and brothers--all gone, all dead. It is time we end this, for our moment has come.
But victory never comes without sacrifice. Heroes are not taught nor trained, but forged in blood and ashes. Our grandchildrens' history books will tell our story, and glorify the heroes and legends.
The Swarm will be conquered; we will prevail.
At any price.
Legacy Fleet The Complete Trilogy eBook Nick Webb
Nick Webb's "Legacy Fleet Trilogy" has scope, depth and riviting intrigue. For those looking to follow a heroic and (relatively) selfless captain, Timothy Granger is your man. The ship tech is plausible. Space travel is unidealized. And the space flight is accurate with terminology that lends itself to realism. The antagonist is original (though I cannot say why without giving a key discovery away; and strongly suggest you find out for yourself). Webb blends nicely the personalities in every strata of the story: politically, militarily and personally. I have looked for something satisfying to read to fulfill my space opera, military sci-fi, honorable hero worship needs for a while, and I believe the "Legacy Fleet Trilogy" may very well do that for others, as well. Powerful and absolutely action-packed! Not as rich and deeply personal as Haldeman's "Forever War" (a classic for all time), and slightly more in substance, yet, on par with Scalzi's pace in "Old Man's War," I think Nick Webb nails it! I do not feel as though I've overstated. Webb hooked me with "Constitution," kept me in the game with "Warrior," and brought it all together with "Victory." I would love to find a story that meets the classic reach and style of Haldeman's "Forever War," but until that happens, give me the "Legacy Fleet." Thanks Nick! Let's go even deeper the next trilogy around. Cheers! Well Done! Frank -Product details

Legacy Fleet The Complete Trilogy eBook Nick Webb Reviews
I was hesitant to try it because first reviews told that it was a Battlestar Galactica remake, but i decided to try it at last and i am not disappointed. Yes, it starts similar to BSG but it evolves into something different... i read the trilogy in less than a week, and im sure to try the next one
The three novels of this trilogy kept me eager to keep turning to the next page of the action within . Come read about epic space battles, Earth forces against Aliens, government against each other and the search for allies among the far reaching stars . Fight along with Captain Granger as he faces the enemy form the stars as well as those at his back .
I read each of the books individually as they were released, and happily re-bought the complete trilogy for the short story 'Hero.'. These books contain good science, action, drama, and a bit of comedy to make an edge-of-your-seat yarn.
Nick Webb is always an enjoyable read and I commend him on this excellent series.
I really enjoy Nick Webb's writing. His style is very engaging and entertaining. Character development is spot on...enough development that you care about and get to know the main characters, but not so much that the story gets bogged down. Good plot twists keep you guessing, battle scenes are exciting and detailed, but, again, not so much that you lose track of the main story. I've read the first book of the next trilogy that continues the story and it's just as good. Eagerly awaiting the next installment.
By the Way I'm retired US Navy. This is mostly a space "navy" story and, even though it's science fiction so some "artistic license" with the military aspects are to be expected, but I'd say the depiction of the military in this series is very believable and realistic.
I have now completed the entire Omnibus edition of the Legacy Fleet and have up-dated this review to reflect this fact.
Book 1 Constitution
Constitution is fast-paced with edge-of-your seat battles, has a seemingly unstoppable alien species called the Swarm, has a bit of political intrigue and overall is a very satisfying read. I found Constitution an interesting read particularly coming off the back of reading Book One Independence which is the start of the new Legacy Ship series set some 30yrs after the Legacy Fleet series. Of course, unsurprisingly the main characters are much older in the new series and some characters have died; so it was good to see the characters as their 'younger selves'. I really liked the dynamic between the two main characters in Constitution, Captain Tim Granger and Shelby Proctor. They don't have an auspicious beginning - Shelby has come in to see to the Constitution's decommissioning and fitting out as a floating museum/attraction for tourists. Of course the whole idea of Granger's beloved Constitution kitted out as a tourist attraction doesn't sit well and after several incidents, Granger is on the verge of 'airlocking Proctor'. Over time, particularly after the Swarm invade the Sol system, Granger and Proctor's working relationship changes and both come to earn the respect and trust of each other.
Book 2 Warrior
The second book in the Legacy Fleet trilogy was just as exciting as the First - plenty of battle action that once again had me sitting on the edge of my seat, biting my lips and generally keeping my fingers and toes crossed that our heroes were going to beat the Swarm. I really liked this one as Webb begins to give us more information about the Swarm and we meet one of their allies. Their are plenty of twists and surpises that I didn't quite expect that really made this book such an excellant read.
Book 3 Victory
Webb manages to successfully draw all his plot threads together in the epic conclusion to the Legacy Fleet and it absolutely had me sitting on the edge of seat wondering who was going to live, die or succomb to the Swarm.
Short Story Hero
This short story is set 5 years after the events in Book 3 and concerns the distruction of the last Swarm/Valarisi carriers - a good little short that I suspect may become more pertinent as the new series unfolds.
The first book in the trilogy can best be described as Battlestar Galactica fan-fiction, but it's done so well I didn't mind it at all. The ending of the book brought in some new elements that made me excited for the second book. The second book really opened up the world beyond a simple aliens vs humans series and brought int a lot of intrigue and duplicity. The third book was amazing but I feel like the ending was rushed. There was huge build-up and then the last hour or so (of the Audible version) there was so much happening that it was hard to wrap your mind around.
Hopefully the Hero interlude between this trilogy and the next will help to resolve the quick ending.
